Okay just found out Sony will be marketing GOW3 in a few Nascar events,that’s exposure…millions of people watch Nascar and I can almost guarantee you that more people will watch Nascar then go to 7/11 in fact they should’ve had the cups at the Nascar events where they give out the cups for free or if anyone buys a drink but a large decal of kratos on a car is good enough considering its a big event Breezy(Quote)

God of War 3 will NOT be the 2nd best selling game on the PS3: MW2, MW1, COD:W@W, COD:NEXT 2010, GTA4, FF13, and there could be more. GoW3 wont hit 1million 1st month.

Uncharted 2 was marketed through the roof, SONY gave everyone Uncharted 1 to everyone that purchased a new PS3 for almost a year. If Uncharted 2 cant sell on its own after that the game is overrated as I know it is.
SONY wont push a game if it isn’t going to get its return on investment. You guys want SONY to market everything, you cant throw away money like that.

I said GoW 3 will be the 2nd biggest EXCLUSIVE for sony, not overall game, you need to listen to what I say dude.
How can you say that games like Uncharted, Heavy Rain are not what gamers want. A game like U2 has set the standards for action games, every action adventure game that now comes out will be compared to it, in the same way most action fighting games are compared to GoW.
Heavy Rain is a game that I feel is a breath of fresh air in the industry. It gets a bit tiring playing the same types of games year after year..example all FPS game are just re-skins of each other, this year alone we have already had bayonetta, darksiders, dantes, and soon GoW all the same type of game. I am a fanboy of games so I respect what Heavy Rain is bring to the gaming industry.
MAG is a game that you need to play to understand, the game is the 1st of its kind on a console so its not perfect, but it is a great start.
So Zinc, I would say to you stop being a sheep dude, cause when it comes to gaming its about the games, so stop bring up CoD and Halo, cause every week thats your ammo..you respond to me with

I think what zinc is saying is, how are consumers going to play a game they don’t know about. I have a friend who is a hardcore gamer but only plays Call of Duty and Need for Speeds. He doesn’t go to gaming sites, or read gaming magazines, so how is he going to know about sleeper games like White Knight Chronicles or Heavy Rain? Word of mouth can only do so much, Sony needs to spend money on marketing to make money from games. Young money! Krome(Quote)

I’m going to listen to the podcast again, not to show you up but because the podcast is that good. If you say GoW3 will be the 2nd best selling “exclusive” on the PS3, that isnt saying much.
For the record, I’ve played every important game since 1976, videogames, the gym, & basketball leagues are my hobbies. I absolutely play everything important, however, I will not play WKC, cant stand RPG’s. A site had a video review of WKC & it confirmed my hatred for JRPG’s. However, I do have respect for the millions of people playing the great ones like FF, its just not for me & I’ll never talk about them because I dont know that much about them. But one day I may not have “anything” to do in the world: NOTHING, then I’ll give a JRPG another try.
Also, I dont like MW2 because of the omission of co-op campaign, it should be a part of the experience not spec ops.
I dont mind people loving games at all, however, when comparisons are made against a game with consistent superior sales numbers, maybe that PS3 game isn’t better than the 360 game people are trying to downgrade. “Example” Baron said PS3 games are doing things never seen before? What? What are these things they’re doing?: Uncharted 2- linear, jack of many trades & master of nothing; the stealth in Uncharted 2 was weak, very weak & no where near as spectacular as the Splinter Cell games on the regular XBOX. People will say: Uncharted 2 isn’t made for stealth, well dont tell me how great it is.
Also, the graphics dont look as good as Mass Effect 2, cutscene or not, look at your girl in Uncharted 2 then look at Miranda in Mass Effect 2.
MAG: its $60 & you can only play online? Where are all the haters hatin on Halo 3:ODST? at least I can play it by myself.
Heavy Rain: is Dragons Lair, not Shenmue, (not saying you or the podcast made the comparison, but many others wrongly made those comparisons, I’d rather comment about that comparison on this site or 2 other sites I frequent because you guys & the others I like like that (nohomo) & would rather give you guys the traffic)

Almost right in my assessment of my comments, but, why is it that “no” PS3 game can be a whopper seller like Gears, Mass Effect, Halo, Fable, I mean it is always the year of the PS3 & at the end of the month Infamous, Killazone 2, Uncharted 2, MAG, Ratchet & Clank never show up on the million sellers list & completely drop dead the following month. They never have anything to show for all this idle chatter I read & hear leading up to launch. Sometimes games have to stand on their own to make a name for themselves.
Halo:Combat Evolved made a name for itself on word of mouth & zero marketing to become the smash hit it is today, if Bungie can do it, why do these other games need major advertising out of the gate. And, I’m not saying a game shouldn’t have advertising but a company cant break the bank on an unproven property, the property needs to prove its worthy of the advertising muscle as Halo did.

That’s your opinion and I respect it, but you can’t say what Heavy Rain plays like if you have not played it.
And come on, you can’t compare Mass Effect 2 with Uncharted 2, both different games, both great games, and each game has its flaws, just like every other game.
I also 100% agree with you comment on Halo coming from the bottom to the top, but you have to remember Halo came about during a time when it was all about Jap games, so everybody welcomed Halo, now everybody is trying to copy it.

I’m a gamer with a double major in business administration & marketing with a minor in economics, so excuse the retard comments. I also said “JRPG’S”, however, I respect peoples opinions, its just not for me. Also, I dont count the Wii as I dont count PC’s, different markets. Nintendo deserves credit for discovering the soccer mom, old people, little kid market that SONY & M$ are attempting to get a piece of. However EA, UBI, & others are wasting their time trying to make a real game for the system, if Mario, Fit, or Guitar aren’t involved, “Fail” will immediately follow!
If you dont like my comments, dont read them! Empty barrels like yourself can only insult, I always give reasons or examples for the comments I make, where are yours? Everything I said about marketing & advertising is 100% accurate, maybe you should read a business policy book, it will tell you the same things!

Back in the 80’s there was a game called Dragons Lair, its the same as Heavy Rain. Heavy Rain may allow you to walk around a little more but the action is all qte. Every video I’ve seen suggest this is the case, I’ll definitely play the game week 1 of release with an open mind, but my prediction still stands.

Graphics play a role but it isn’t the deciding factor in my book, however, PS3 people think the PS3 has this generation widening appearance that is a hidden illusion behind the linearity & featureless production of the games in question: Killzone 2, looks great, however, No co-op through missions, no 4 player co-op, & restricted vehicle features in the game. Uncharted 2, linear as hell, one way to do things, copied of many games, mastered nothing, & a digression of stealth: see Splinter Cell on the regular XBOX.
I’ll take being an XBOX Ambassador, most of the podcasts I listen to have their fair share of PS3 Politicians, so I’d at least give a voice or word for the other side.

2nd, Wii fit is the best game to the demographic Nintendo has created. Look up demographic & tell me what it means so you’ll be on a certain level of competence so you’ll understand competition.
No, most of the games I play are not linear, another word you need to look up, then you’ll understand what I’m talking about. Try & read articles on Uncharted 2, if you comprehend on a juvenile level, you will understand just how linear Uncharted 2 is. It makes no sense for an adventure game made in 2009 to be so linear, as I’ve said before Uncharted 2 should be called Charted 2.
In theory all consoles are competing, yes, however, the reality is they’re seeking different markets. No one on this board will have a Wii as their only console, no one, we would have a PS3 or 360, the Wii is secondary to us. This is why EA, UBI, and others that try hardcore games on the Wii dont work. COD wont sell on the Wii, yet its the #1 selling game of 2009, different demographic within the same market. Do you understand.
As far as sales go, it is an indicator the greatness of a product, especially when it comes to sequels. Uncharted 1, Halo 1, Gears 1, XBOX 1, Resistance 1, McDonald’s Cheeseburger. All products are tests of their prospective target markets, if they have repeat buyers in large numbers, its a success. Consumers can be tricked with the first iteration of a series, but a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 5th iteration as with the Halo Series & COD Series, No, the games are Amazing, period! & I’m not a COD fan but I will buy the game for my son & to beat the single player myself & I give respect to the millions that play it weekly, it just isn’t going to get my playtime ever again.
