  • Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Details Begin To Emerge
    by Quentyn Kennemer
    Posted March 9th, 2010 at 2:04 pm
The exciting announcement of the latest Ghost Recon game was followed without much information: we got a release date and a logo. It seems that's because OPM has the exclusive on Future Soldier and some new details have emerged. The biggest info to be had out of all this is that Ghost Recon will feature a 4-player cooperative campaign with drop in/out ability (think Borderlands). Perhaps the biggest disappointment, though, is that there will not be squad commands for single player. We suspect th...
  • The Man Meets The Made Man In This Mafia 2 Trailer
    by Quentyn Kennemer
    Posted March 5th, 2010 at 4:38 pm
2K Games' Mafia 2 is shaping up to look like one beast of a game. After another delay to the title's release, it seems like they're making it up to fans by bringing us this great looking trailer which includes a nice mixture of great looking in-game cutscenes and very clean looking gameplay. Whatever their reasons are for delaying this game so much (with its initial release supposed to fall somewhere within the fall 2009 window) it looks like all of that extra time is not going to waste. The ...
  • New Socom 4 Teaser And Director Commentary To Feast Your Eyes On
    by Quentyn Kennemer
    Posted March 5th, 2010 at 4:16 pm
Sony's continuing the momentum from their Socom 4 announcement early yesterday (late yesterday for those in the UK) and they've released the first teaser for the sequel. The trailer first premiered on GameTrailers TV where host Geoff Keighley forced thousands of eager fans to wait through 30 minutes of content to get to what we've been waiting for. The trailer doesn't show much and the entire thing was done in CG (intentionally for stylistic purposes), but it should be enough to get any Soc...
  • It’s Official: Socom 4 Is Inbound
    by Quentyn Kennemer
    Posted March 4th, 2010 at 2:12 pm
I rarely get giddy for new game announcements but being a long time Socom fan, I think this one is justified. Sony has just revealed that Socom 4 is in development for the PlayStation 3. This sequel will be developed by Zipper, who took a break from the series to work on their first foray into the PlayStation 3: MAG. The news comes in as Sony has confirmed they would be showing a game Thursday night. It's well enough Thursday, and the European PlayStation blog was updated right around 8pm in the...
  • Heavy Rain Review
    by Quentyn Kennemer
    Posted March 1st, 2010 at 6:24 pm
It's not often that we get a game like Heavy Rain, and when we do it's imperative that we open our minds and clear them out to take in the type of experience that it offers. The comeback title from Quantic Dreams after their critically acclaimed Indigo Prophecy (Fahrenheit overseas) is out, and after finishing the campaign we only have one question: how far are we willing to go to consider this game a must buy? Read on for our long-winded answer. Right from the start, you can pretty much tag ...

    by Quentyn Kennemer

Metro 2033 is shaping up to be a great looking game, with an interesting setting. This latest trailer gives us a brief glimpse at some of the environments we'll be coming across as we fight for survival in a post-apocalyptic hope-land. What's really intriguing is how lively the underground safe areas are. Families patron about as they seek refuge from a dark world that's as unforgiving as it'll ever be. About mid-way, prepare to shift gears as the gunplay is shown off in all its hectic glory. Th...

2K Boston has jumped off of the horse to let their sister-studio 2K Marin go for a ride with the sequel to 2007's Game of the Year. BioShock 2 is out, and it brings with it a good host of additions to complement the return of a lot of what made the first game as successful as it was. Is the sequel worth checking out? Read ahead for our review. In BioShock 2, you return to Rapture just 10 years after the events in the franchise's debut. A major power shift has occurred since the fall of Andrew...
  • Tweetalert: Bad Company 2 Has Gone Gold
    by Quentyn Kennemer
    Posted February 19th, 2010 at 5:30 pm
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is done and off to be manufactured. The news came via Twitter, of course, as Lead Online Software Engineer at DICE Jesper Svennevid tweets that "We are now gold on all SKUs, time to celebrate with some good food and beer! #BFBC2". Sounds good to me! Now we just observe an awkward moment of silence as we have nothing else to report....
  • New Project Offset Video Arrives, Still In Tech Demo Form
    by Quentyn Kennemer
    Posted February 19th, 2010 at 5:00 pm
Intel has finally released a new video for Project Offset, the long-in-development tech demo by Team Offset, who was acquired by Intel throughout the middle of their development efforts. Since then, the team's impressive showing has still been in the works, though it's still just a tech demo to show off the Havok engine. In the video, a blind giant stumbles about as he accidentally smashes a building into pieces. The visuals are as impressive now as they were three years ago when I first caug...
