Some may say this movie was what took the giant leap forward for 3D movies and some may same it got more hype than it deserved, but what people cannot deny is the records James Cameron’s Avatar has broken, no, shattered. The movie has grossed close to $3 billion worldwide, won countless visual awards and even set somewhat of a standard for all 3D movies. It’s safe to say James Cameron is sitting on his beach chair smiling, actually it’s not. We’ve found out via data collected from TorrentFreaks that the movie has been pirated over 21 million times, through sites that utilise p2p file sharing, alas this doesn’t take into account ddl’s. Still though, that’s pretty insane. I thought 3D would stop pirating, huh?
