If This Then That aka IFTTT is a slick automation service, and it finally made its way to Android. Through IFTTT you have channels that have recipes. These recipes are a group of triggers that are activated if something happens then does something. For example, if you update your Facebook profile picture (if this), your Twitter profile picture will change to that picture (then that). We’ve made a list of the top 5 recipes to make your android phone more 007 bond like.
I’m sure I’m not the only person who’s forgotten to mute there phone when getting into the office. Nothing is worse than your Move That Dope ringtone playing in the middle of your staff meeting.
Being a person who’s more active on Facebook than Twitter, sometimes I forget to show Twitter some love. With this recipe when you update your Facebook profile picture, your Twitter will automatically get the same profile picture. Magic!
This is a must have! When you send IFTTT a text message with the hashtag of your choice (I prefer #freebird) and a custom voice message will call you. You can set up multiple messages with different hashtags. Now the message you have is very important! Here’s a snippet of one my messages triggered by #freebird. Feel free to take it for yourself. This is the Miami Dade County Police automated system. A friend or family member in our custody has listed you as there point of contact.
If you have any recipes to suggest, shoot me a link in the comments!
As you can see, I’m using the brand new Twitter www.twitter.com/GoogleKrome and I have to say its pretty dope so far. We’ve given the new layout a look through and compiled a list of some of the really cool stuff you’ll notice when it rolls out.
Tweets that have more retweets and more favs are bigger than the rest
The more love you get on a tweet, the bigger it will appear on your page just like your ego. Its easier for others to see the conversations that others already see as interesting.
Your profile keeps track of a lot of stuff, like how many favorites you have
As you can see by my profile, I’m very stingy with my favorites. Your profile is now a data portal for all your Twitter statistics. A quick glance of my profile you can see that I’ve posted 345 pictures and videos to the world.
You can pin tweets to the top of your page
This is a great idea especially if you have a welcome tweet that you would want new followers to see. This may be more important to brands and businesses, but I’m pretty sure you guys can find a good way to use this feature in the future for something.
When looking on someone else’s profiles, you can now filter Tweets/Replies, Tweets with photos, or just tweets.
Twitter stalking has just become that much easier. That added layer of control gives users a more streamlined way to get to exactly what they want to see. When you’re on Nikki Minaj’s Twitter, we know you can careless about the inspirational quote tweets. Filter her page to tweets with photos!
Let us know in the comments and reactions how you feel about the new Twitter. People will soon compare this new look to the classic Facebook look, do you agree?

Happy New Year folks! I usually take the first couple of days of the new year to reflect on everything that blew by that past year. One of the many noticeable events of 2013 was the abundance of game changing devices. Check out these devices and why they changed the game after the jump!
When it came down to the next generation of consoles, people were worried about the compatibility of their headsets. Astro Gaming took the time to inform their customers on how their current headsets will work with the Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
Sony is making an attempt to bridge smartphones and digital cameras with the CyberShot QX10 and its higher end brother, the QX100. The lens-style cameras look like a detachable lens with a huge sensor, optical zoom and HD video recording. What makes the QX cameras so crazy is it wirelessly connects and physically attaches to your smartphones. The camera turns into a Wi-Fi access point, and your phone turns into the viewfinder, through the Sony camera app. The CyberShot QX10 & QX100 pretty much transforms your smartphones wack camera into a great midrange camera. Definitely on our radar!
