  • Is Sony Fighting Piracy The Right Way?
    by Quentyn Kennemer
    Posted February 17th, 2010 at 6:00 pm
We all know the PSP has had a very rampant problem with piracy over the years as we've witnessed Sony battle the hackers for years on end now. The war still rages on, though, as Sony installs its next tactic to ward off the illegal downloaders. When David Simpson from TheGamerAccess.com called me earlier, he expressed disconcern for what he saw as he was browsing the PlayStation Store: two different downloads for the latest Socom game, dubbed Fire Team Bravo 3. One of the downloads was for th...
  • Pop’n Music Review
    by Baron W
    Posted February 13th, 2010 at 3:14 pm
Pop N Music is an offshoot of a popular franchise by the name of DJ Max Portable. Pop N Music uses sounds from popular anime, J-pop games, and even some remixes of popular games such as entries from the Gradius and Castlevania series. Aesthetics are the main focus of this game, but it might be best to describe its place by saying “too much of anything is a bad thing” and this game does exactly that. From the constantly moving characters on screen to the extremely bright colors of the game ov...
  • January 2010 NPD Numbers Are In
    by Quentyn Kennemer
    Posted February 11th, 2010 at 5:32 pm
The NPD numbers for January 2010 are in. What consoles took the top spot and what games had people opening their wallets?  Microsoft beat out Sony's PlayStation 3, moving 330k units compared to the 276k Sony was able to push out. Darksiders, in a surprising appearance, has come in at number 10 having sold 171-thousand units.  As usual, your plethora of Wii games remain littered throughout the top 10, as well as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on both platforms. It seems Nintendo truthfully can'...
  • New Blood Bowl Investigation Trailer
    by Quentyn Kennemer
    Posted February 10th, 2010 at 7:00 am
Someone's not happy with the way the other races are approaching the game of football, and he's going to let it be known on national television. This latest Blood Bowl trailer shows the bloody, brutal game of football in the eyes of a former player who, in my honest opinion, sounds entirely too bitter for his own good. Perhaps he's just pissed because his career never really took off (even after having participated in thousands of games in his lifetime). Check the trailer out below. ...
  • First Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Teaser Trailer Lands
    by Quentyn Kennemer
    Posted February 9th, 2010 at 5:30 pm
Earlier, we were supposed to be greeted by a revel via Xbox Live in the form of a trailer announcing Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. Unfortunately, a lot of people were unable to find this video on Xbox Live  (and those that don't own an Xbox 360 couldn't even check for themselves, of course). It's finally popped up on the internet, and you can check it out for yourself below. Technology evolves, threat evolves, but the war stays the same. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is out Fall 2010 for the PlayS...
  • Iron Man 2 Trailer Has A Fetish For Metal
    by Quentyn Kennemer
    Posted February 8th, 2010 at 12:39 pm
Sega promised us that Iron Man 2 would be a lot better than the original game (based on the movie, which is subsequently based on the comic). While this trailer doesn't do much to prove that Sega is on their way to making that happen, it does look somewhat promising. We still need to see a lot more, though, before passing any judgment. In any case, just enjoy this trailer as Tony Starks prepares to make his return to consoles (and as he also wishes he'd never built himself the iron suit to begin...
  • ModNation Racers Darting To PSP, Too
    by Quentyn Kennemer
    Posted February 5th, 2010 at 9:36 am
Sony just announced that ModNation Racers is being developed for the PSP concurrently with the PlayStation 3 version of the game, which was announced at last year's E3. The PSP version will be the same as it is on the console, which allows gamers to create custom tracks with unique features to share with their friends and race online with. The game isn't cross-compatible, so you can't upload a track made on the PSP to your PS3 version (and vice versa, ala WWE Smackdown vs RAW) but the handheld t...

  • PSPgo Could Be Relaunched, According To Sources
    by Quentyn Kennemer
    Posted February 2nd, 2010 at 8:15 am
To say to Sony that the launch of the PSPgo was disappointing could be an understatement: critically, the game didn't get a lot of rave from the gaming universe, and the sales matched that sentiment. As we all know Sony is keen to do, Gamervision is reporting (through an unnamed source that we'll take with a small helping of salt) that the manufacturer could be gearing up to relaunch their handheld sometime very soon. You can check out their claims for yourself, but no real details have been ...
