I was never the biggest fan of the music but those diss videos Max and French Montana would drop were hilarious. Damn 75 years is a long time, a long, long time. It's sad for all involved. More on Max being sentenced after the cut.

By no means do I condone bootlegged music but, you know there is always a but. During smoky Madden session last night a friend who will remain nameless dropped the jewel on me. OB4CL II is The Chef's best work in years. I'm not going to write a review for it until I cop the official on Tuesday September 8th. The album is incredible folks. There is no competition, not even from Jay's BP3. I heard BP3 in that same Madden session, I do not condone bootlegged music. If I can quote a Jada line from "Broken Safety ", "F*&k saving Hip Hop/We bringing The Streets Back". The Chef may have succeeded in doing both.

This has been an unbelievable year as far as the number of talented human beings we have lost. I'm at a loss for words at the moment, there is just so much history here I truly don't even know where to begin. These two cats played huge part in my partying ways and now only one remains. Wycliff ‘Steely' Johnson passed away yesterday from heart failure. Full article after the jump.

According to Alternet.org, iTunes has removed songs that have been deemed homophobic but they allow white supremacist groups like Skrewdriver and Brutal Attack to sell their music on the popular site. Read more after the jump.

In 1993 Jodeci released ‘Diary of a Mad Band", it didn't appear that way at the time but the title turned out to be a hint for what the future held. That same year charges were filed against DeVante and K-Ci after the two of them brought a woman back to DeVante's apartment. K-Ci allegedly threatened and fondled her breast while DeVante pointed a gun at her. I can probably drop the allegedly because they both plead guilty to the charges. The following year Devante was the victim of a home invasion in which he was robbed and held with guns in his mouth and to his head. In 1995 the band dropped "The Show, The After Party, The Hotel" and we haven't heard a peep out of Jodeci since. I can't help but think that the turbulent two years before their last album dropped contributed to the bands demise but that's not what this is about. Full article after the jump.

I thought rap was supposed to be a young man's game? Well don't look now but your favorite rapper is over 30. Two of the most highly anticipated albums of the 2009 are being released by two cats that are approaching 40. The Chef Raekwon is 39 and Jay- Z will be 40 in December. Talk about mid life crisis, sheez! Shall I continue? The "Wizard of Poetry" Ghostface Killah is 37 and a 37 year old Eminem dropped "Relapse" earlier this year. A few years ago the cool thing to say was I won't be rapping when I'm 40, or better yet 30. So what is it, the recession keeping these cats from retiring and bowing out gracefully?
