We don't hate fillers anymore. Nope, not any more thanks to the hardworking team behind the anime BLEACH. With the current new arc, which I might add is not cannon to the story, brilliantly setting the bar to all those other lazy animators over at (they know who they are), who always tend to make what is a hopeful storyline turn into a comical bore, this is truly exciting and something us viewers commend. Never in my whole years watching anime have I seen, what looks like so much time put into a filler arc. Beautifully animated and the story told is something refreshing which I'm sure also pleases the manga creator Kubo Tite. Now if you're wondering what a filler is, it's usually when the anime doesn't go according to the main story (90% of the time not following the direction of the manga) and what we usually get is a rushed below par episode with a very basic plot that usually ends within that episode. However in the past, the BLEACH team, though as stated that quality was lacking, were quite consistent towards making arcs which spanned 20 episodes. The Bounto arc was one to be exact and even though I wasn't a fan of it, it seemed okay at the least. The update on the previous plot before the filler arc started, was all about the small characters getting their time to shine or in other words, characters that got their ass kicked in previous episodes. Mostly consisting of Vice-Captains with the exception of Captain Kommamaru fighting of against the Espada's fractions. Once the small fry were settled it paved way for the big guns to square off, but just as that was about to happen, the main battle for the arc started of between Uliquorra and Ichigo.
Of course this fight didn't end and with a couple of disruptive episodes including one clearly directed at those hentai viewers (I don't know what hentai is) minus an outstanding episode which marked as a prequal that tied into the first episode based through Mizura's point of view (one of Ichigo's classmates). In comes the new arc which starts off showing most of the Soul Society Captains and Vice-Captains suffering similar problems trying to unleash or use their sword's special abillities. They are soon summoned into an emergency meeting to find out that their General has been kidnapped. It's also revealed that the reason why they couldn't harness their abillities was due to the fact that someone has abducted their swords powers to use against them and the Soul Society.
The whole theme of this arc is 'being controlled by what you control' and it has a nice twist. All the swords are in their form battling against their commanders. We'll have to check out week by week to see what happens, but I'll throw in my views. Personally I think that the swords themselves are being manipulated to go against their wielders for reasons yet unknown, but something as good as this has got me stoked.

Here was someone immersed in a search for truth and beauty. Words had been cheap timberland boots treasured, words that were beautiful. And I felt as if the words timberland waterproof boots somehow delighted in being discovered, for they were obviously very generous to the as yet anonymous writer of the notes. And now this person was in turn learning the secret of sharing them. Beauty so shines when given away. QL
