Crysis fans, we’ve got some good and some bad news for you today. The good news is that Crysis 3′s MP alpha stage will begin in a couple of days (November 2nd). The bad news is that you won’t be able to participate in it. Nvidia launched a give-away contest, in which the green team has distributed 5,000 keys to the first 5,000 people who signed it up. As you may have guessed, all those alpha trial keys are now gone.
As Nvidia suggested, this is an exclusive MP Alpha trial, meaning that we could see another closed MP alpha or beta test at a later date. Let’s not forget that C2 had an exclusive X360 beta test, so this is definitely good news for PC gamers.
It will also be interesting to see whether the alpha version is packed with all the DX11 features that were advertised a while ago. According to its readme file, this alpha test is DX11 only, meaning that those with DX9 and DX10 cards won’t be able to play it. The alpha test features only one map and supports up to 16 players.
Consoles fans will also be able to test Crysis 3 prior to its release, as Crytek has also confirmed that there will be an open beta test for all platforms closer to the game’s release.
Crysis 3 is currently planned for a 2013 release on PC, X360 and PS3!
