Star Wars 1313 First Gameplay Footage and Screen Shots E3 2012
All I can say is wow. Next to Watch Dogs, Star Wars 1313 has to be the standout game of E3 so far, mostly because both were completely unknown going in, but also because they look absolutely incredible. Lucas Arts and ILM have been fast at work at what looks like it could end up being the quintessential Star Wars experience in the world of gaming. Taking place between Episode III and IV, Star Wars 1313 takes place on level 1313 of Coruscant, the capital world of the Empire/Republic throughout the Star Wars mythos. Since the planet is essentially completely cityscape, it is divided by levels, and as you would imagine, the lower that elevator goes, the more scum and villainy will follow.
There are rumors that this game will tie in with the upcoming Star Wars TV show, also set to take place between Episode III and IV, also taking place on Coruscant and most importantly and shockingly, both carrying a mature rating. Star Wars rated M for Mature? It’s happening folks, and bringing the grit and grime to a video game about bounty hunters is the stuff of a Star Wars nerd’s fantasy. Just writing those words bumps this game up a few notches in terms of my own personal excitement, and if that’s not enough, G4 got their hands on some in game footage, and my god… can you say incredible? Obviously this is running on a beastly PC, but the folks with Lucas Arts claim it will look this good on all formats. So that begs the question: next gen? I think so, but not much more is known beyond what you see here. Either way, I can’t wait to find out more!
