What is the point of E3 anymore? So Game Informer couldn’t leave well enough alone and had to let part of the cat out of the bag: Microsoft is announcing the next game in the Gears Of War franchise at E3. They are leaving it at that and have released a teaser image of the July cover (seen below), with the rest of the details to follow after Microsoft’s Monday press event. But wait, isn’t that the point of the press event? To have that “holy shit I didn’t see that coming” moment? I mean, I get it that Game Informer usually drops an image of their cover all the time, but I feel like it’s December 23rd and my jerk of a brother who is usually awesome just told me some of the cool stuff I am getting. Oh well. So now the Dawnguard DLC for Skyrim has been shown and that is a timed Xbox exclusive and we already know that there will be a new Gears Of War game announced at the Microsoft conference. Great. Glad I don’t need to worry about what I am missing at work Monday. We’ll hit you with more when we know it. The E3 spoilerific Game Informer article can be viewed here.
