Shocking Introduction: A First Look at Digistruct Peak in Borderlands 2

If there is anything I can back with a full endorsement, it’s having a reason to play more Borderlands 2. My Game of the Year for 2012, Borderlands 2 may very well be my favorite game of all time, and with four expansion packs in the books and two new consoles about to launch, it looked as though Borderlands 2 was about to ride off in the sunset. But wait, THERE’S MORE??? That’s right folks, Gearbox has never been shy to look for new ways to make money, and they have done just that with their latest addition to the Borderlands 2 experience: the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2. For $5, you can now level yourself all the way up to 72. On top of that, there is a new playable area called Digistruct Peak, where Patricia Tannis will send you on missions that play a little like Moxxi’s Underdome without the waves of attackers. Instead, you move place to place. All of the enemies are higher levels, so be ready for a battle. I decided to check out Digistruct Peak the morning of launch, and you can get a small preview in the video after the break. My microphone was being a jerk and cuts in and out, so sorry about that. The¬†Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2 is available now on Xbox Live, Playstation Network and Steam.

Shocking Introduction: A First Look at Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep DLC for Borderlands 2

And with that, Borderlands 2 is a wrap. Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon’s Keep is the final piece of DLC for Borderlands 2, and it is available now on the platform of your choosing. The expansion pack features Tiny Tina leading the remaining original vault hunters in a game of Bunker’s and Badasses, a Dungeon’s and Dragons-esque board game in which Tina acts as the dungeon master. She dictates everything that happens throughout the story, even getting carried away from time to time and putting your favorite vault hunter into an impossible scenario. Lilith, Brick and Mordecai keep her in check, though.

Borderlands 2 Swag-Filled Limited Edition Diamond Plate Loot Chest Unboxing

During their panel at PAX East 2013 in Boston this past April, Gearbox announced that they would be re-releasing the Special Edition Loot Box that came with the Ultimate Loot Hunter Edition of the game in hopes that it would hit fans that couldn’t snag it the first time around. They planned on working with and priced it at $99 with this edition limited to 5000 pieces. So June 7th came and went and within three hours of going on sale, every last one of the 5000 was gone, and as it turns out, I was one of the fortunate few that managed to snag one, even though I have the OG original. This time around, the Swag Filled Limited Edition Diamond Plate Loot Chest containts:

  • Diamond Plate Loot Chest
  • Loot Chest Certificate of Authenticity
  • A rare vacuform Goliath mask w/ SHiFT code that unlocks the head in-game
  • 20 Trading cards with SHiFT codes that unlock Legendary items in game
  • Vault Hunters Wanted Poster
  • Window Decals for Hyperion, Jakobs, Maliwan, and more

Borderlands 2 Short Film – Krieg: A Meat Bicycle Built for Two

So that’s what is going on in the head of a psycho? I suddenly feel like a huge jerk. Oh well. Gearbox has taken the time to shed a little light on our latest Vault Hunter: Krieg the Psycho. Krieg isn’t like other psychos on Pandora, and now I feel like we have a better idea of why. This short four plus minute video shows a very coherent Krieg as the narrator, and how the effects of whatever was done to him has turned him into the babbling idiot we know psychos to be. Like I said: huge jerk. Check it out. Krieg is available now on Xbox Live, Playstation Network and Steam for $10.

Shocking Introduction: A First Look at Krieg the Psycho in Borderlands 2

A new vault hunter has arrived into the wastelands of Pandora and his name is Krieg. It’s an exciting day for fans of Borderlands 2, as Krieg the Psycho is the sixth playable character for the game and adds a crazy new spin on the game. Krieg has a number of skills that reward fairly reckless gameplay and it makes for a pretty intense play style. His primary kill skill is a melee attack called Buzz Axe Rampage and during this attack, he does +500% melee damage and increased movement speed. Every kill you get while in Buzz Axe Rampage restores your health and taking damage while outside of it increases the regeneration speed of the skill. So basically, you get to play the game like your name is John fucking Rambo, guns blazing, with total disregard of everything going on around you. Eventually, there is a skill called Light the Fuse which will let you chuck explosives at enemies while you are in Fight For Your Life. So basically, you always want to be near death. Crazy, right?

There are three videos below. The first shows off the fact that Krieg is in fact available now, the second shows off some of his skins and heads, and the third shows off some gameplay. I’m only at a level 13 so far, so many of the better skills remain to be seen, so stay tune for more as I level up throughout the day. Krieg has been a lot of fun so far, and his bandit speak for banter is quite amusing as well. Krieg is not a part of the Season Pass, which is a sore spot for most, but a subject for another type. He is, however, $10 (800MSP) and is available now on Xbox Live, Playstation Network and Steam. Enjoy!
