Every weekend I’ll be tackling a new cooperative game with my sister. This past weekend we kicked things off with Lego Marvel Super Heroes on the Xbox One. We had an hour of awesome commentary but unfortunately I forgot to press the button to record our audio 🙁 Next weekends edition will have commentary but for now enjoy the first 2 missions of Lego Marvel Super Heroes.
Wave two of the Marvel Avengers movie franchise has begun, as Thor: The Dark World kicked things of with a furious bang. Captain America, Guardians of the Galaxy, Ant Man and eventually, The Avengers 2: Age Of Ultron are on deck. That hasn’t stopped Marvel from looking ahead to Wave 3, and with that, Jon Hamm of Mad Men fame has been announced for the lead role as Doctor Strange in a stand alone Doctor Strange movie. With Robert Downey Jr’s contract set to expire soon, Hamm and Doc Strange are looked at as possible new face as leader of the Avengers. There were rumors of interest in Johnny Depp for the role, but it looks like Hamm is their guy. After the break, you can check out a video where my brother Eric and I discuss the role and whether or not it should have gone to Hamm, Depp or someone else over some LEGO Marvel Superheroes gameplay. What do you think?
LEGO Marvel Superheroes is in stores now, and if you are like me, you are scouring the internet looking for the almighty cheat codes. Love them or hate them, they are a signature of the LEGO series and for many, make the game more enjoyable. The codes are becoming harder and harder to come by, so I’ve taken it as my civic duty to track down each and every code I can every year. This article will be a living piece, and as more codes become available, they will be added to the list. I am pretty deep into the game and it is pretty fantastic, which really shouldn’t be much of a surprise considering TT Games has become the model of consistency with their LEGO games.
So 2012 is in the books, and what an amazing year it was for gaming. We just put the finishing touches on our top 20 games of 2012, but it’s never too early to look forward to the awesomeness we have in store for 2013. It is looking like this is going to be a huge year for gaming, with the next Xbox likely to be announced at E3 and hopefully released shortly after. It won’t be called the Xbox 720, because that makes absolutely no sense, but it will be the true start of the next generation of gaming consoles. On top of that, we’ve got the Steam Box and Playstation 4 on deck, with the Wii U serving as the awkward bridger of gaps from the last generation to the next. A quick look at the games that have actual release dates at this point only goes as far as May, so all signs point to some of these games being next generation. Because there are no release dates, it is also quite possible some of these hit in 2014, but at the end of the day, we’re still just as excited. These are the top 20 games of 2013 that we are looking forward to the most:
