Swagger Jacking! iOS 6 Features Android Already Has

The internet is still a buzz over the new features in iOS 6. iOS 6  is jam packed with new features, in fact we listed the best features of iOS 6. Anyone with an Android can tell you that they’ve been enjoying majority of the new features  of iOS 6 for awhile. Apple is known to “reinvent”  from time to time but you can decide for yourself if its reinventing or swagger jacking!

Deep Facebook Integration

iOS 6 now offers the ability share links to Facebook quickly and sync your contacts and calendar to your phone. iOS already has this ability with Twitter and now Facebook is included in the integration team. On Android we can share to not just Facebook and Twitter but pretty much any app.  If you want to share to Facebook, Dropbox, Gmail, Twitter, Instagram or even Google Drive, it can be done with the simple press of the share button.  The Facebook contact sync as well as calendars has been on the Android train for years now. Android contact cards can save not on the Facebook and Twitter but other social networks like LinkedIn.

VIP Mail

Clever wordplay Apple! In iOs 6 you can create a group of people that are considered VIP. These VIP’s emails will hit a separate VIP inbox minus the spam email you enjoy so much. Gmail has a priority inbox which pretty much does the same thing as VIP but without you having to set anything up. I personally have a label/filter for all my VIP contacts for a few years now.

Tab Syncing

OK who really uses Safari? Well if you do (sorry to hear) you’ll be getting tab syncing. What ever tabs you have open on your Safari browser you can sync it with your iOS 6 device. Funny story, Google introduced this same feature with Google Chrome a few months ago.

Maps

Apple gave Google Maps the boot in order to start their own maps. This new map app includes your regular map features now with turn by turn voice directions with social features. Google Maps + Navigation has had majority of these features plus more from day one.

With all that being said, its time for you to decide. Do you think iOS 6 is swagger jacking Android? Did we miss anything? Let us know in the comments!

Things have changed now. Before it was Samsung and other Android devices that are catching up on Apple. Now, it seems that Apple is now the one that’s doing the chasing.
