Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time Vita/PS3 Cross-Play Detailed
Yesterday we showed you the newest trailer for Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time from Gamescom. The trailer brushed on some information that was already known, as well as some unannounced info. The unannounced info that I’m referring to is the new release date as well as the newest Vita/PS3 cross-feature.
As already stated, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time has been delayed from its Fall 2012 release date. You’ll be able to help Sly hunt down whomever is erasing his family from history this upcoming February.
The new cross feature, mistaken to be cross-controller, is actually cross-play that works by way of Augmented Reality. In this case, utilizing both the Vita and PS3, players can hold their Vita up to the TV screen, press one of the treasures that appears on the Vita’s screen and a beacon will appear on your TV, unearthing secret treasures not found before. This ensures a nice, a fun treasure hunt, and added functionality for those that own both a PS3 and PS Vita.
To best take advantage of all of Thieves in Time’s cross-features, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time will be apart of the “Cross-Buy” initiative that will provide gamers with a download code redeamable for the Vita version of Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, provided that they have bought the PS3 version. Not only does that save you money, but it adds more functionality, ensuring that you get the most out of your game.
