Introducing the Nintendo 3DS LL

UPDATE 3: The AC will come bundled with the handheld in America, unfortunately, the Japanese will have to buy it separately. Although, if you already own a 3DS, that charger will work too!

UPDATE 2: The 3DS LL will be avaialble in the USA on August 19 for $200.

UPDATE: The 3DS LL will be available in Japan on July 28 for 18900 yen ~$189. It also boasts a bigger battery, but does not include an AC adapter.

For months it has been rumored that Nintendo would introduce a redesign to their newest handheld, the Nintendo 3DS. This redesign was expected to incorporate the recently-introced circle pad pro for a more sleek design. During the newest Nintendo Direct, they announced this new device, dubbed the 3DS LL, but some fans may not be pleased.

The 3DS LL does not feature the circle pad pro, but it is quite larger than its predecesor. As you can see from the image above, the 3DS LL is a 1.16 inches bigger than the 3DS, has ditched the black border previously found on the top screen of the 3DS, and introduced hard buttons on the bottom of the lower screen for start, select, and home.
