Confirmed: Need for Speed Most Wanted will Not Feature Cross-Buy
Criterion’s latest spin on the Need for Speed series drops next week in the form of Need for Speed: Most Wanted for the Vita, PS3, PC, and Xbox 360, but will this game feature PS3/Vita cross-buy? It seems not. Following a message on the game’s PlayStation Store page that stated buying the game would limit it to two portable consoles, rumors sprung up that this meant the game would indeed be cross-buy compatible. Fans immediately contacted Morgan Haro, a prominent face on the PlayStation Blog, to get more clarification on this matter.
When asked about the Need for Speed cross buy situation, Morgan stated “confirming its not cross buy. that language is the generic license stuff on all products but looking to change the copy for NFS” and that he’s “working on getting it fixed asap.”
This is sad news for PS3 and Vita owners alike that were looking to enjoy this racer on both their TV and handheld for a cheaper price, but it was to be expected. For now, the only cross-feature you’ll see in this title comes in the form of Speed Points, experience you earn throughout your playtime, that can be carried throughout all systems.
