DICE Announces Battlefield 3: Premium Edition

You had to see this coming. Battlefield 3 was released on October 25th, 2011, and now, nearly a year later, it is about to be released again in the form of Battlefield 3: Premium Edition. Your disc may have a pretty, new picture on it, but at the end of the day, it’s the same disc everyone else purchased since release, it’s just this version of the game comes packaged with the codes for Battlefield Premium. In the event that you have somehow waited an entire year to jump on the Battlefield bandwagon, you can pick up the Premium Edition on September 11th, 2012 for $69.99. It’s a solid price considering I paid $110 for it and I am pretty sure this comes with all sorts of extra unlocks on top of the game itself. I’m not too sure why the folks at DICE didn’t have the foresight to release this much sooner, but September 11th in the US? You couldn’t even push it a week sooner? Alrighty.

All bitching aside, the trailer for the Premium Edition is worth the watch, as it shows off new video of the Armored Kill DLC set to be released in September, and is capped off with the grand finale of a very brief glimpse at the December DLC entitled Aftermath. They still haven’t set in stone an actual release date for either Armored Kill or Aftermath, but I think it may be a safe bet that the Playstation 3 will be seeing Armored Kill on September 11th. I guess we’ll still have to wait and see… which is completely ridiculous considering September is just two and a half weeks away. Anyway, the trailer is fun, so check it out:
