Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut Video of all four New Endings

Were you one of the folks pissed off about the ending of Mass Effect 3? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. In ending the Mass Effect trilogy, Bioware created a firestorm of epic proportions that they still find themselves struggling with today. While, for the most part, the criticism has started to subside, a wealth of fans have become disenfranchised by the approach Bioware decided to take in ending the series. While Bioware refuses to admit that they were wrong and has staunchly supported the writing that went into the grande finale, they have acknowledged that they might have been less diligent then they would have liked in presenting the series of events that would bring Commander Shepard’s story to a close.

With that, Bioware went back to the drawing board and came back with what they are calling the “Extended Cut” of the game, featuring new clips that would dig deeper into the story and leave fans with a greater sense of understanding as to just what the hell they were trying to show us the first time. Let me save you all a lot of time and maybe even hard drive space: just watch the videos. There is absolutely zero new game play, so unless you feel like running through the missions again, Youtube is the way to go. While they filled in a few plot holes, I still feel completely unsatisfied. One thing is definitely for sure, though, and that this is the way the game should have ended the first time around. No cute BS, no Lost moment, no sitting around trying to figure out what the effff just happened. Straight forward and to the point.

The only thing that is completely new is the opportunity to tell the Catalyst to pound sand and hit the bricks. Rejecting the Catalyst is a short ending, but to be honest, it is the most satisfying of them all, and makes the most sense. If you don’t feel like going through the hassle yourself, all four endings are below/after the break. Enjoy… or become more frustrated. Or both. Yes, probably both. The Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut DLC is available free of charge on all formats now.

Synthesis:

Controlling the Reapers:

Destroying the Reapers:

Rejecting the Catalyst:

Special Bonus – So unless you are trying to get the rejection ending, you probably shouldn’t do this. Apparently the Catalyst is a dick:
