PS3 Firmware 4.25 Brings 1GB of Cloud Storage to PlayStation Plus

UPDATE 2:

Morgan Haro has stated on the PlayStation Blog that the US update should be available later tonight.

UPDATE:

Firmware 4.25 will be available in European regions tomorrow.

This years GamesCom bode well for PlayStation Plus users. In addition to getting confirmation that Sony’s premium service would be available on the PlayStation Vita later this year, we also got word that PlayStation Plus would soon receive a bump in cloud storage, upping it from 150MB to 1GB. At the time, Sony didn’t give an exact release date, only telling us that it would be available “this September,” while that hasn’t changed, it does look like that date is getting closer.

Sony has just announced that the next PS3 Firmware update, Firmware 4.25, will be the firmware to look for. This update brings 1GB of cloud save data storage to PlayStation Plus. When the update will be available this month is still up in the air, but you can expect it soon.
