Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time Delayed; New Trailer Shows off Cross Controller?

2012 August 15

The Thievius Racoonus returns in his latest adventure, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time. Set after the events of Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, this tale takes sees us leaping throughout time in an attempt to capture the villain who is erasing Sly’s ancestors from history.

In Thieves in Time’s latest trailer, we are presented with a look at the abilities that Sly’s various comrades will possess. We see Bentley’s expert code-cracking abilities, Murray’s ability to dispatch hordes of enemies in one fell swoop, as well as Carmelita’s sharpshooting skills.

In addition to being shown Sly’s team, the trailer also gives us a brief glimpse at some of Sly’s ancestors and how they use their skills to advance past obstacles.

Out of all of this, there are two things to take out of this trailer:

1. It seems like Thieves in Time will support the “Cross-Controller” feature, evident by the fact that the scene showcases Vita-PS3 “Cross Features.”

2. Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time has been delayed. While it seems that this part was more or less brushed under the rug, the end of the trailer does reveal an “early 2013″ release date as opposed to the Fall 2012 release date that we were supposed to get.

While it is dismaying that this game has been delyaed, the fact that this will support the Cross-Buy promotion that Sony recently announced has me happy.
