US PS3 Version 4.10 Update Is Live
The future is upon us. Over the weekend, Sony issued an email to all “PlayStation Network” users. This email gave users a glimpse at Sony’s goal of “establishing a global comprehensive network platform of services across games, movies, music and more, all accessible from one convenient account.” That goal is now coming into fruition with the ” rebranding of PlayStation Network accounts to Sony Entertainment Network accounts”.
This name change has set in motion Sony’s goal to unify their services under one name; The “Sony Entertainment Network”. The name change has now been issued in the United States via a 180MB update to the PlayStation 3′s System Software from version 4.0 to 4.10. International users can update their PS3′s also.
The full change log for firmware 4.10 can be found below:
- Improved web browser
- Fixed the PS3′s Clock
- PSN account has been renamed “SEN” account
Early adopters of the PlayStation Vita will also need to update their System Software to version 1.6. The Vita update will allow users access to their “Sony Entertainment Network” accounts while also:
- Introducing the “Map Application” that allows users to check their current position, driving or walking directions to a destination, and details about your current location.
- Adding Video recording functionality via the “Photo Application”.
- Altering the ” Home” or “PlayStation” button to flash when the Vita is connected to a power source.
