PS One Support Coming to Vita on August 28th
Since the Vita’s release, many fans have been pleading with Sony to flip the switch on PSOne support so people could play their favorite PSOne titles on the go. During their E3 Press Confernce, Sony announced that this feature would be available “this summer” but did not include a concrete release date. At Gamescom 2012 today, Sony finally unveiled the release date, August 28th. In just two weeks, the PlayStation Vita will be able to play PS One titles that you’ve downloaded off the PlayStation Store.
Also announced were some tweaks that are to be included in Firmware 1.80 – the PSOne-adding firmware.
Cross Controller will be making its debut with LittleBigPlanet 2. By simply jumping into Remote Play and enabling the “Cross-Controller” option, you’ll be able to control LBP2 straight from your PlayStation Vita.
PS Vita users will also be able to control the home screen and certain applications through the use of the Vita’s buttons.
For a list of the other tweaks that will be added in Firmware 1.80, head on over to the PlayStation Blog.
