Rumor: The Next Box To Feature A Tablet Controller With Buttons And An HD Screen
In what appears to be an effort to get an early cash-in on the Wii U’s market, Microsoft will supposedly be opting for a tablet controller similar to the Wii U’s controller. This rumor comes from an article in Xbox World Magazine, they have stated that their sources informed them that
Microsoft are experimenting with a tablet-like controller with a shape closer to Sony’s sleek Vita handheld / Apple’s iPad than Wii U’s bulky unit – it’s an HD screen surrounded by the traditional 360 buttons and sticks.
A controller that sports the sleek build of the Vita and iPad does sound like it would be a good idea, especially if they want to attract the Wii U’s fan base. Add in the HD screen and the familiarity of the 360′s buttons and analogue stick, and you’ve got what could be a great console for both hardcore and casual gamers alike.
