How to unlock all suits in The Amazing Spider-Man
If you don’t know, now you know. The Amazing Spider-Man hit store shelves yesterday and as you would expect from a character that has worn a few costumes over the years, there are unlockable Spider-Man costumes in the game. What is a little different about Beenox’s approach to these suits is the fact that they are all time sensitive. No, you don’t have to wait for DLC is released to pay and unlock them, but you do have to wait until a very specific date and time. Or do you? The first unlockable suit is due for unlocking on July 1st, 2012, which is only three days away, but why wait? Thanks to my brother Eric, we have figured out a tried and true method for date sensitive material and unlocked all the suits today! How, you ask? Well it’s actually quite simple.
I only know that this will work on the Xbox 360, but I would imagine there is a way to do the same thing on Playstation 3. The first thing that you need to do is complete Chapter 3. After Chapter 3, the journalist you rescue gives you a camera and asks you to take pictures. Once that happens, you can search the city during free roam for Spider-Man logos hidden in various locations. So if you have the acquired the camera, the next step is to go to the dashboard. You will obviously want to stay logged in to your profile so you can access your game save, so next we want to unplug your ethernet connection or turn off your wireless router. Once you are no longer connected to the internet, you need to go to your settings and change the date. To play it safe, we set the date for six months in the future: 12/27/12. After that, go ahead and reload the game, and the game will think it is the date you chose. If you went far enough into the future, the Spider-Man logos will appear as they would have on the specific dates they were to be released. Just strut your way around New York and take a picture of the logo and boom! Suit unlocked! Save, go back online and you are all set.
The video below shows the location of five suits: Scarlet Spider, Future Foundation, Cosmic Spider-Man, Big Time Spider-Man and Negative Zone Spider-Man. There are apparently three more, but they are super lame like Paper Bag Spider-Man and one where he is wearing a birthday hat. Since they are all saved, you don’t have to worry about the date or time anymore. Once you log back into Xbox Live with the internet, it will autocorrect you to today’s date, whatever it may be. So check it out and enjoy the new suits! I apologize in advance for the humming noise my mic was making and the fact that the dialogue was like three seconds faster than the video. It’s always something!
