Shocking Introduction: A first look at the LittleBigPlanet Karting beta

It is said that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. Two of the most anticipated titles in the Sony catalog have drawn significant inspiration from two of the most popular titles in the Nintendo catalog, and it’s not hard to figure out why. Who wouldn’t want their own variation of a game that is both fun and profitable? While Sony’s Super Smash Brothers clone may be the more anticipated of the two, their take on Mario Kart is the first to hit the masses in the form of LittleBigPlanet Karting. A beta for the game is out there and I had a chance to jump in a few games and the game is looking like it will be a lot of fun. There are a few maps to fool around on, and I tried to show a little bit of all four of them in the videos below.

This is not a game that I would buy myself, but it does look like it is going to be a fun title. The only reason I would not buy it myself is because I am not really into racing games in general, so this is just not my style. LittleBigPlanet Karting does look like it will be an enjoyable game to those that are. While no release date has been announced, LittleBigPlanet Karting is said to be looking at a late 2012 release date.
