Shocking Introduction: A First Look at the Madden 13 Demo (49ers vs Giants, Seahawks vs Redskins)
And just like that, Madden 13 may have just become a day one purchase for me. That is the hope and purpose of all demos, and with Madden 13, it was pretty important for me to feel confident in the game before I decided to drop 60 bones on yet another roster update. NCAA Football 2013 was a huge disappointment for me, and I have grown tired and weary of the way EA Sports has tried to monetize pretty much everything in their sporting games. I realize none of that has anything to do with the game itself and can easily be ignored, but it is principle at this point.
So this is the part where they suck me in, because I’ll be damned if this game doesn’t look fantastic. The animations are tight, the game play is much more fluid then NCAA and most importantly, the AI is not nearly as idiotic. I really shouldn’t be surprised, because Madden always looks great, for me it has just become a matter of will it keep me interested. That will be a serious topic of internal debate for me in the next few weeks, as the August 28th release date is fast approaching. The better question is: what do you think? Below you will find over 40 minutes of game play, with the demo match-ups this year being the Redskins vs. the Seahawks and a rematch of the NFC Championship game last year, the 49ers vs. the Giants. Check it out and let us know what you think! The demo is available now on Xbox Live and should be up at some point today on the Playstation Network.
Washington Redskins vs. Seattle Seahawks – Check out Robert Griffin III and the ugly as sin Redskins helmet and the equally ugly Seattle Seahawk kits:

San Francisco 49ers vs. New York Giants – Randy Moss in a 49ers uniform is making them look potentially scary:

I have played madden 13 100+ hours and can tell you that it lacks too many features to be considered great or well designed.
