Shocking Introduction: The First 35 Minutes of Sleeping Dogs

Sleeping Dogs is a rare bird in the world of gaming. Originally True Crimes: Hong Kong, Sleeping Dogs is one of the few games I can remember that was canceled by one publisher only to be picked up and released by another. Activision’s loss is looking to be Square Enix’s gain, as an hour into Sleeping Dogs, I am already feeling a real sense of attachment to the protagonist Wei Shen, an undercover cop sent deep undercover and tasked with taking down the kingpins of the Sun On Ye. Everything about the game so far is simply stunning, from the art style to the seamless gameplay and most importantly, the story. The free-flow combat makes the game feel a lot like Batman: Arkham City. The best part is yet to come, as I haven’t even managed to unlock the open world of Hong Kong just yet. Below you will find the first 35 minutes or so of the game, from the intro right into the first big quest that you do for one of the Red Poles of the Sun On Ye, Winston Chu. Sleeping Dogs is in stores now and if the rest lives up to this beginning, I will definitely be able to call it a must buy. I’ll probably add some free roam video later, so stay tuned to the Youtube Channel for more.
