Shocking Introduction: The First Chapter of Borderlands 2

The wait is over and Borderlands 2 has arrived! I managed to sneak in a little bit of playing time after picking up and unboxing my Ultimate Loot Chest Edition of the game at the midnight launch, and my god, can you say incredible? This was, hands down, my most anticipated release of 2012 and after just 20+ minutes, I am already in love. I feel confident enough tin what I have played so far to say that Gearbox has found a way to surpass all of my expectations, across the board, and once I finally dig in a little more, I fully expect Borderlands 2 to surpass Mass Effect 3 as my game of the year.

The premise of the sequel is that there is an even bigger vault on Pandora, and our villain for the game, Handsome Jack, is after it. Adventurers are being lured to Pandora by the prospects of the Vault and Handsome Jack is rounding them up and sending them to their doom before they get there. Unfortunately for him, four savvy Vault Hunters are going to prove to be a thorn in his side and have managed to survive his recent train ride of death to carry out… the mission. Lots of old friends are back, and most importantly, we start Borderlands 2 the same with a visit from the same guy that got us started on our first trip to Pandora. Pay no mind to his inter-planetary ninja takeover events. I believe he was just going through a phase. If you are stuck waiting to pick this up, enjoy the first chapter of the game to hold you over. Borderlands 2 is available now on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC in North America, and on September 21st everywhere else.
